An Fulacht Fia Restaurant

This fine dining restaurant is located one mile from the village on the coast road. It has a very good reputation for serving fresh fish and local produce dishes. It also serves lunches during the summer season.

Gregan's Castle Restaurant

Gregan's Castle Restaurant is a four star Manor hotel that is located 3 miles (4.8 km) outside Ballyvaughan village on the road to Lisdoonvarna.

The restaurant has been the winner of very many national awards including being the winner of the "Food & Wine Best restaurant in Ireland 2011 and RAI Best hotel restaurant 2011. 

Their extensive dinner menu, offers a good choice of fresh local foods and they carefully select all our ingredients and organic Burren lamb and beef are specialities, as is locally caught fish from the Atlantic Ocean.

Non-residents are welcome to make reservations for dinner in their wonderful dinning room.

L'Arco Italian Restaurant

L'Arco is an authentic Italian restaurant located in the heart of Ballyvaughan village.

Their antipasti and pizzas are carefully prepared by native Italian chefs and use locally-sourced, quality foods where possible. The restaurant is informal and relaxed and welcome families. Reservations are advisable for week-ends.

Linnane's Lobster Bar

Linnane's Lobster Bar is situated between Kinvara and Ballyvaughan (5 miles 8 km from Ballyvaughan village). It is famous for fresh seafood and is open daily. Food is served from 12 noon to 9 pm daily.

The Post Office is located on Church Street, Ballyvaughan.

The Postmistress (Siobahn) and her staff are always welcoming and willing to help their customers.

Opening Hours: Mon to Fri 9am-1pm & 2pm-5.30pm. Sat 9am-1pm.

Ballyvaughan Service Station & Shop

Ballyvaughan Service station and shop is located on Church Street, Ballyvaughan.

The Post Office is also located here.

The Service Station and the shop are open every day and is open from early in the morning until late at night, so you can also drop in for your grocery shopping. It is just around the corner from Ballyvaughan Village & Country Holiday Homes. The proprietor (Siobhan) always has a smile to welcome her customers.

In addition to foodstuffs, you can but light hardware and rent videos. They also have a delicatessen for take-a-way food.

Catholic Church

St. John the Baptist Church is the Roman Catholic Church in the parish of Ballyvaughan.

The foundation stone was laid by Bishop Fallon in 1958. The church was knocked down in 1862 and again in 1863. Fr. Forde went to Australia to collect money for the rebuilding and he managed to complete the church n 1866.

It is of Gothic design with the sanctuary situated at the eastern end. In 1938 a new marble alter and communion rail were erected and the walls and floor of the sanctuary were finished in mosaic. In 1942 a general renovation of the nave, roof and tower were carried out. It was given a new roof in 1985.

The current parish priest is Fr. Richard Flanagan 

Mass times alternate between Ballyvaughan and Fanore churches. Need to check the weekly newletter in the churches for current mass times.

The Launderette

The Ballyvaughan Launderette is located off Church street in the village and is open six days a week throughout the year. It provides a range of washing and ironing services.

Opening hours are from 9am to 5.30pm each day.

Summer season at Burren Fine Wine & Food is the time to enjoy a selection of tasty lunches, with many healthy vegetarian food combining options on the menu, as well as a range of mouth-watering homemade dessert.

Soda Parlour

The Soda Parlour is a family run cafe on the main street of Ballyvaughan village. They serve a wonderful selection of crepes, breakfast and many other treats.

Tea & Gardens Rooms - An Féar Gorta

Jane O'Donoghue welcomes you to her Tea and Garden Rooms. All her salads are freshly made, with vegetables and fresh herbs from her gardens. Cakes, bread and scones are baked right in the kitchen. "The recipes are always the same. I got them from my Mother and grandmother. The black currant cheesecake, the lemon-orange - I make all the cakes myself."

The original building was built in 1790 as a residence for security coast officers. In 1875 the building was vacated and occupied by a local family until 1974. In 1875 the O'Donoghue family purchased the property. The old building was in a derelict state and was demolished in 1978 and the existing building was built and opened in 1981 as the Tea and Garden Rooms.

The Tea Junction

Just sit in the Tea Junction cafe and watch the world go by! The Cafe is located at the top of the Main street, just where the street divides to go right for the coast road or left for the Corkscrew Hill.

They serve a range of freshly made breakfasts, lunches and snacks. The perfect place for a cuppa and a chat. You will certainly enjoy their scones and their refills of coffee. If you are staying with us, you will not have far to walk for a snack!

Pubs

Burren Hyland's Hotel Bar & Restaurant

Fine local seafood, succulent Burren lamn and fresh produce combine to make just some of the delicious meals. A casual bar menu is ideal for delicious snacks in the hotel's bar which dates back to the original coaching house. Traditional Irish musicians and storytellers often frequent the Burren bar, which has a wonderful enchanting atmosphere. Located at the square in Ballyvaughan village.

Greenes Bar and Off Licence

Greenes Pub is a long established pub that has recently been extensively refurbished into a stylish pub and off-licence. It has kept all the character that makes it popular with local residents and tourists alike.

Logue's Lodge Hotel & Bar

Logue's located on Main Street, Ballyvaughan. The Bar includes several rooms, a snug, dance floor (for traditional set dancing) and there is also open fires which burn real turf cut locally throughout the winter months.

The Bar has a Food menu, which is served from 11.00 am all day until 9.30pm . The menu includes inlcudes a wide selections of excellent food to choose from. Breakfast is also available until 12.00 for non residents which is great for a sleep in!

Logues Lodge, formely O'Briens, is a favourite place for both visitors and local people.

Monk's Bar

Monks Pub is frequented by locals and tourists alike. It is located beside the "old pier" on Ballyvaughan harbour. On a nice sunny day there is nothing like have a drink sitting outside the pub or even sitting on the harbour wall. 

O'Loclainn's Whiskey Bar

The Pub is a squarish room, small and dark; inside O'Lochlainn's its always three  in the morning. The only light seems to come from the combined glow of dozens of bottles of whiskey - more than 75 different brands - ranged along the shelves, and the dull glean of metal drawers, that 80 or 100 years ago, held sugar, shoes, tea and livestock feed.

Steven Speilberg described this unique and authentic pub as one of the best pubs that he has been in.

Linn Fashion

Linn Fashion is located at the rear of the Spar foodstore and carries a range of ladies fashion, a book store and other gift items.

Quinn's Craftshop

Originally a R.I.C. barracks; Quinn's Craftshop has been transformed into a haven for discerning shoppers.

Unique handcrafted gifts from Irish craftsmen and women can be found here.

Food Store

Spar Foodstore

The Spar Foodstore and delicatessen is located on the main street of Ballyvaughan village. They carry large selection of fresh and cooked meats to choose from, it also has built up a fine reputation for its wonderful range of salads and quiches made daily on the premises.

You can buy a big breakfast roll early in the morning with fresh coffee/tea available. 
They also make fresh sandwiches and rolls.

You can also choose from a range of Irish made cheeses with locally smoked salmon, trout and mackerel. They also have a wine licence.

Newspapers both Irish and International are available with a wide range of magazines to choose from.

The Irish National Lottery service is available in house as well.
